Tour de Culture
Tradition and culture are living terms in the Olympia Region Seefeld.
This is something that guests too can see and "hear" - in Mösern for example. Here, situated high up on the Seefeld plateau with a wonderful view across the Inn valley, you find the largest Peace Bell in the Alps, with a diameter of 2.5 meters. It rings daily and reminds the surrounding countries to remain good neighbours.
In Reith there is a very special kind of "cultural path" you can follow: at 10 stations, from "milestones" over the music pavilion, the parish church, the Plague Column or the "Giant House" the varied history of the village unfurls before visitors' eyes.
Also worth a quick visit is the fort Porta Claudia, which was constructed from 1632 – 1634 in the narrow valley of Scharnitz on land belonging to the Bavarian religious centre of Freising. The ruins of some stone walls reaching up to 6 metres are still visible today. The customs office was situated in the former barracks of Porta Claudia up until 1957.
